• In the church there needs to be of other men serving Jesus.
• Young men need to older men enthusiastic about the eternal King and His church.
• 1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. 
• People do what people see.
• Leadership in a church is not for the man but for the man who longs to be a godly man. Deep Desire.
• Leadership in a church is not for a man who believes he has reached the pinnacle of spiritual maturity but for a man who knows that advancement in Christ is a journey. Deep Humility.
• 1 Corinthians 10:12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.
• Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.
• A godly man is in full pursuit of the ways of the living God. A godly man also falls, gets up, and keeps going…falls, gets up, and keeps going.

• Paul described the characteristics of a man who should lead the church in the first century. The qualifications were .
• The mistake for a church to make is to elevate various opinions what God’s Word has declared.
• A church is to be thoroughly .
• 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
• Running From and running To appear to be the for all of life.

• 1 Timothy 3:1-7 This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position.” 2 So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach. 3 He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome, and not love money. 4 He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him. 5 For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church? 6 A church leader must not be a new believer, because he might become proud, and the devil would cause him to fall. 7 Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap.
• The church is responsible for affirming a man’s qualifications for ministry by taking the Apostle Paul’s measurement from the Word of God.
• It does not require talent, but it does require .
• We have the Holy Spirit, other men to help us, and tools to help mature us.
• Men, you’re not too old to changing. You are too old to doing what isn’t working.
• This is a measurement that gives me clear direction and my weaknesses, strengths, and other characteristics I once lacked.
• as a godly man doesn’t happen in a day; it happens daily.

Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I know that the penalty for my sin is physical, spiritual, and eternal death. I acknowledge that I can’t do anything about my situation. But I know that You came to pay the penalty for my sin. I trust in You alone as the One who died in my place. I repent of my sin and trust in You as the only One who can place me in an eternal relationship with the living God. I desire to be Your child. I desire to live as Your child. In Your name. Amen.
