JUDE 3-4, MESSAGE #3
July 20, 2025 / DR. LARRY LAMBINTRODUCTION
- A church that teaches the accurate truth of God’s Word will be a of Satan.
- A church that teaches the true message of God’s Word will usually face opposition from . Why? Because Satan uses division and false teaching from false teachers to make the church anemic.
- Acts 20:28-31 So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders. 29 I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. 30 Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following. 31 Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you.
JUDE 3-4
- When Jude wrote to believers, he his focus for one simple reason: false teachers had the church.
- Jude 3 Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.

“When the enemy is in the field, the watchman dare not go to sleep. The Christian life is a battleground, not a playground.” Warren Wiersbe
- In everything we do in life and ministry, God’s is what we stand for.
- Galatians 1:9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.
- “What’s the description of a false teacher? How will we know who is true and who is false?”
- JUDE 4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
FALSE TEACHERS
- Who they are – . This is a life lived apart from God.
- What they do – (V.4). These false teachers were not followers of Jesus who had made mistakes, but intruders who did not know Christ and tried to destroy believers’ faith.
- What they say – is permissible (V.4). Aberrant behavior by false teaching influencers is not surprising. Romans 13:13-14 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. 14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.
- Whom they deny – Jesus as (V.4 Master and Lord, Jesus Christ). Master means sovereign ruler, and Lord refers to the owner. This shows Jesus’ complete authority.
- 2 Peter 2:12 These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed.
- Learn to be a passionate of God’s eternal truth, His people, and His church.
- Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
