LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS | PASTOR, DR. LARRY LAMB
December 24, 2025 / PASTOR, DR. LARRY LAMBLIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
- Luke 2.8-12 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
- The world Jesus entered was not calm or bright — it was uncertain and weary.
- The birth of Christ reminds us of a profound truth: God does not stand far off, watching our struggles from afar. God comes close.
- Notice that the shepherds were the first to hear the good news. They were ordinary laborers
- Luke 2.13,14 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
- Christmas is not only about receiving the light but also about carrying it into the world.
- Every act of kindness, every forgiving word, every quiet prayer becomes a light against the darkness.
- May the story of Jesus’ birth renew our hope, kindle our faith, and fill us with the peace that passes.
- 2 Corinthians 5.21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
Do you know about Jesus, or do you KNOW JESUS?
SALVATION PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I know that the penalty of my sin is physical, spiritual, and eternal death. I acknowledge that I can’t do anything about my situation. But I know that You came to pay the penalty for my sin. I trust in You alone as the One who died in my place. I repent of my sin and trust in You alone as the only One who can place me in an eternal relationship with the living God. I desire to be Your child. I desire to live as Your child. In Your name. Amen.
